Hospital to open urgent care in Lakeville

Northfield Hospital & Clinics is bringing urgent care to Lakeville.

Beginning October 15, urgent care providers will be available to see walk-in patients at Urgent Care Lakeville, a service of Northfield Hospital & Clinics, at the corner of Jacquard and County Road 70. Hours will be noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. No appointments are necessary. Read more »

FamilyHealth announces seasonal flu clinics

FamilyHealth Medical Clinics have established specific dates and times for its fall seasonal flu clinics. Specific dates at Northfield, Lonsdale, Elko New Market, Lakeville or Farmington are posted on the respective clinic websites. Go to www.familyhealthclinics.org for information for the clinic nearest you.

Hans Bengtson, MD, an orthopedic surgeon, has joined Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic of Northfield, a service of Northfield Hospital & Clinics.

 Beginning in September, Dr. Bengtson will work with Robert Shepley, MD; Brad Wille, MD; Clint Muench, MD; and Erik Stroemer, MD. He will see a full range of patients in clinic at Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic in Northfield and at nearby FamilyHealth Medical Clinics. He will operate at Northfield Hospital. 

Dr. Bengtson’s professional association with OFC is a homecoming of sorts. He is a 1998 graduate of Northfield High School and the son of Kathy Bengtson, former director of Northfield Home Care. Read more »

Hospital’s Breast Care Center offers spa experience

Northfield Hospital’s Breast Care Center is offering a “mini-spa experience” with every mammogram scheduled on10 dedicated days during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Those scheduling mammograms October 1,2, 9,10,17, 18,21, 22, 28 and 29 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. will be treated to a mini-massage, complimentary specialty beverages, treats and a parting gift.

 Sandy Mulford, director of Diagnostic Imaging at Northfield Hospital, said the “spa event” is an effort to encourage women to have an annual exam. Early detection can save lives and increase treatment options, she said.
