Northfield Hospital Auxiliary

Kaleidoscope Gift Shop2012 postcard

The Kaleidoscope gift shop is a project of the Northfield Hospital Auxiliary. It offers smart, imaginative merchandise designed to generate excitement and conversation. You’ll find jewelry, scarves, hats, clothing, lamps, decorations, personal items, gifts and more.

Purchases at the Kaleidoscope support the services provided by Northfield Hospital & Clinics and other local health initiatives. The Auxiliary played an important role in the development of the hospital’s Breast Care Center, and has pledged $150,000 to the Cancer Care & Infusion Center. The Auxiliary also supports HealthFinders, the Northfield Healthy Community Initiative and others, and provides scholarships for those pursuing education in a health-related field.

The Kaleidoscope gift shop is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10:30 a.m. to 2: 30 p.m. on Saturdays, except for the summer months when it is closed on the weekends. This service is provided by the Northfield Hospital Auxiliary.

The Northfield Hospital Auxiliary was formed in 1951 to support the hospital’s efforts to meet the medical needs of the community. Over the years, the Auxiliary’s annual book fair has become its primary fundraiser and a signature Northfield event. Funds have been used to develop the Breast Care Center and the Cancer Care & Infusion Center, buy hospital equipment and furnishings for waiting rooms, children’s areas, and the skilled nursing facility. The Auxiliary awards competitive scholarships annually to students who are pursuing advanced study in health-related careers. It also supports the community’s literacy program and a pharmaceutical assistance program for those in need. Past projects include the infant car seat program and Candy Stripers. Its members staff the hospital gift shop. Proceeds from the shop are used to support hospital programs.
