Volunteering

Volunteer opportunities at the Northfield Hospital exist in the Long Term Care Center as activities assistants or patient companions, at CSMR, in Diagnostic Imaging, the gift shop, as clerical assistants, and as knitters.

Northfield Hospital volunteers must be at least 16 years old and in good general health. Volunteers are required to attend an orientation session, have a Mantoux Test and commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week..

Northfield Hospice also has a strong volunteer component. Men and women volunteers are important team members who help with visiting hospice patients and families, help with errands when appropriate and help facilitate responses to need as they arise.

Hospice volunteers receive special education training to help them understand the issues important to patients and families dealing with terminal illness. If you are interested in this type of volunteer experience, contact Melissa Berthelsen, hospice volunteer coordinator, at 507-646-1037.
