Visitors

Children in visitor's lounge

Your baby's father, brother, sister and grandparents are welcome to visit anytime you wish. There is space for your partner to stay overnight as well. Recommended visiting hours for all others are 11 a.m.–1 p.m. and 3–8 p.m.

Because your hospital stay is very short, we suggest you try to limit other visitors to a brief 15 to 20-minute visit, so you have time to rest and enjoy your baby with your family. We encourage you to make your recovery and learning to care for your baby priorities during this time.

There is a small toy-play area for visiting siblings. However, all children must be supervised when in the hall or in the play area. To help us keep all our babies healthy, visitors with colds or other communicable diseases, and children under 12 years (other than siblings) should not visit you and your baby. Please ask all of your visitors to wash their hands before they hold your baby.

Please note:

  • Your visitors will not be allowed to bring latex balloons into the hospital, due to an increase in latex sensitive/allergic patients and staff. Mylar balloons may be brought in.
  • The hospital and hospital grounds are a smoke-free environment. Patients are not allowed to smoke during their hospitalization. Visitor smoking is permitted only in your vehicle.

More information about visiting the hospital, including gift shop, cafeteria hours and internet connection, is available here.
