Urinary Incontinence and Treatment
Many women experience urinary incontinence (leakage of urine) at some point during their lives. If you are experiencing incontinence, you should know that there are many behavioral and lifestyle changes, medications and surgical procedures that may help. More information on incontinence from Mayo Clinic is available here.
Completing the Urinary Incontinence Questionnaire (pdf file) prior to your appointment will help your physician determine, along with you, which treatments are likely to work for you.
Recording your urine output and fluid intake, along with your episodes of leakage, will also help us in your treatment plan. We recommend that you print out and complete a daily Bladder Diary for one or more days to bring with you to your appointment.
