Prior to her medical career, Dr. Suppes did research at the Mayo Clinic and worked as a licensed home daycare provider. She also directed church choirs. Currently, she lives in Lakeville with her husband, George; daughters, Kelsie and Erin; dog, Biskit; and cat, Kitty. She also has a grown son, Josh, who lives in Farmington.

Her interests include figure skating (She is currently president of the Tri-County Figure Skating Club.), sewing, reading and holiday decorating. Dr. Suppes also spends much of her free time cheering for daughters at various sporting events (skating, cross country, track, soccer).
