Meet Mary Jo McNamara, PT
As a home care physical therapist, I treat patients that are homebound and unable to get to the clinic for physical therapy services. Often times, my work is a continuation of the therapy services the client was receiving in the hospital or skilled nursing facility. I work closely with the home care team of doctors, nurses, occupational therapists and home health aides to provide patients the care needed during recovery in the home setting. Our goals are to maximize the client’s potential to return to their previous level of health, mobility and function in their home and progress them back into activities in the community. I initially became interested in the field of Physical Therapy as a college student during summers as a counselor at Camp Courage while working with special needs children and adults.
