JANUARY 27, 2021 – Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has expanded the rollout of COVID vaccine to include adults 65 and older.

NH+C does not have vaccine for those 65+ right now. When we have vaccine available, we will contact patients about the process to be vaccinated. Please do not call or plan an appointment now.

JANUARY 15, 2021 – As COVID vaccines roll out, Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is providing more flexibility for hospitals and healthcare systems to use all available doses as quickly as possible, offering available doses to individuals most at need for protection, including those over 65. MDH’s position follows significant changes earlier this week in federal guidance on vaccine distribution.

Vaccination begins for healthcare workers; no timeline set for general public

DECEMBER 22, 2020 – Northfield Hospital + Clinics has expanded COVID testing to anyone who wants a test. That includes individuals who have no symptoms and no known exposure to a confirmed case of COVID.

As community spread increases and the virus spreads through people who have no symptoms, wider testing helps identify asymptomatic carriers.

NOVEMBER 9, 2020 – Got questions about kids and COVID-19? The number of COVID cases in Minnesota has stayed fairly stable through the summer. With the shift in seasons, health experts expect to see an increase in cases. It’s hard to know when, or how it will take shape. So it’s important to maintain healthy habits.

Prevention is key. Masks, cleaning, and physical distance are all important to prevent spread of virus. Keep a high standard for these habits. Be firm and diligent.

Masks for everyone over 2 years old. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends masks for all kids 2+ anytime they’re not in their own home. In general, there is no health condition that prevents a person from wearing a mask.

JUNE 25, 2020 – If parents get too sick to care for their children, it helps to have a plan in place.

Planning ahead for possible emergencies is even more important during the COVID-19 pandemic. One key priority is knowing what to do if a parent or guardian becomes sick or hospitalized due to the virus.
