Registration open for EMS classes

Registration is open for the Spring 2016 term for EMS Education Courses available through the Emergency Medical Services division of Northfield Hospital & Clinics.

Classes are designed for persons wishing to become certified first responders and/or emergency medical technicians.

Courses include:

EMT Refresher – satisfies National and Minnesota 24-hour EMT refresher requirements with required psychomotor examination. Feb. 12, 13 and 14 with required Psychomotor Exam on Feb. 21

EMR Initial Course (EMT Part 1 of 2) – completion results in Minnesota EMR certification and eligibility to sit for the national certification exam. (Class formerly titled First Responder.)

Tuesday and Thursday evenings with occasional Saturdays (3): Feb. 16 – April 10

EMT Completion Course (EMT Part 2 of 2) – bridge your EMR/First Responder certification to EMT. Current EMRs/First Responders can take this hands-on course to complete their EMT certification. Completion will result in eligibility to sit for National certification and subsequent Minnesota certification.

Monday and Wednesday evenings with occasional Saturdays (5): Feb. 15 – May 15

Registration is required for all classes. No walk-ins will be allowed. Course size is limited. Registrations are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Agencies can be invoiced. A waiting list will be established.
