Hours and Timing

When is eCare available?

You can fill out an eCare 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will get a response during open hours. If it is after hours, your eCare will be reviewed when we open the following day.

How soon will I get a response?

It typically takes 1 - 2 hours to get your diagnosis and treatment during open hours.

How long does it take to finish an eCare?

Once you’ve created an account, it typically takes between 5 and 10 minutes to finish an eCare. Just like when you come into the doctor's office, we ask different questions based on your unique symptoms and condition, so the actual time it takes to finish will depend on your unique circumstances.

Prescriptions

Can I get prescription medications through eCare?

Your provider will order prescription medications for you if they’re needed, and send the prescriptions directly to the pharmacy of your choice.

Will my prescription be covered by my insurance policy?

Most pharmacies accept most insurance plans. Please verify that the pharmacy you select is within your covered network.

Is the prescription included in the $45 cost?

No, you will pay for your prescription at the pharmacy.

What should I do if my pharmacy isn’t on this list?

We're always growing our list of pharmacies. For now, pick the closest pharmacy, or choose a national pharmacy chain. National chains can transfer prescriptions to their other locations.

Cost and Insurance

How much does eCare cost?

eCare costs $45 if no insurance. We will submit a claim to insurance for payment. You will receive a statement from Northfield Hospital + Clinics for any remaining balance after insurance or if you do not have insurance. You may want to contact your insurance company for your specific plan benefits.

Will I be charged if you can’t provide me with a treatment plan?

If it turns out that we can't provide you with a treatment plan, and require you to come in, you will not be charged for your eCare.

Diagnosis and Treatment

Who makes the diagnosis?

Once you’ve completed your eCare questionnaire, a licensed, board-certified Northfield Hospital + Clinics provider (doctor (MD or DO), nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA)) will review your symptoms, make a diagnosis and create your treatment plan.

Security and Technology

Is my personal information safe?
