Price Estimate and Price Transparency

2024 Chargemaster of Hospital Standard Charges  2023 Average Charge per DRG  Top 25 Clinic Charges

The information provided on price estimates is a good faith estimate and is not a guarantee of what you will be charged. Based on your unique medical condition and needs as determined by your health care provider and insurance coverage, the actual charges may be more or less than the estimate given based on the services received during your visit.

The actual cost will depend upon a variety of factors such as:

  • The length of time spent in surgery or recovery
  • The number of days spent in the hospital
  • Specific equipment
  • Supplies and medications required
  • Additional tests required by your health care provider
  • Any unusual special care or unexpected conditions or complications

These estimates do not include some physician charges (e.g., anesthesiologist, radiologist, pathologist, consulting physicians, etc.)

Call Your Insurance Company

Your insurance company can provide you with the most accurate cost estimate of what you will pay. Please check with your insurance company to see if the service is covered and to see if Northfield Hospital & Clinics is in network with your plan.

Insurance companies have real-time, consumer-specific information about deductibles, copays and other features of a consumer’s health plan and health care utilization during the plan year. Because health insurers negotiate different payment rates for services with each health care provider, including hospitals, physicians and clinics, the best way to compare prices you will pay at your local health care providers is to contact your own insurance company.

As of January 1, 2021, under Federal Government Regulations hospitals are required to post their current standard charge, the cash discount, the negotiated charge for major payors and the de-identified minimum and maximum negotiated charge. Medicare and Medicaid plans are not negotiated contracts and therefore are not included in this file. Below are the links that contain this required information. This information is updated annually.

As of July 1, 2019, under Minnesota State Law each primary care clinic that specializes in family medicine, general internal medicine, gynecology or general pediatrics is required to post its list of the top 25 procedures over $25. Below are the links that contain this required information. This information is updated annually.

Northfield Hospital + Clinics believes it is important to help patients determine the cost of their services and their financial responsibilities. Estimating your cost of care is complex and includes many factors that are not reflected in a simple format.  If you have insurance, your benefits will ultimately determine the amount you owe (including deductibles, co-pay, co-insurance, and out-of-pocket maximums and in-network vs out-of-network). The amounts reflected on the data file are an average of all plans and what a patient will pay is likely to be different.

Surprise Billing or Balance Billing
