Janelle Dahl, APRN, CNM has joined Northfield Hospital + Clinics to care for women before, during and after giving birth.
NH+C is expanding midwifery care at its Birth Center and Women’s Health Center, part of the full range of obstetrics care and birth options at NH+C.
Janelle joins NH+C with 10 years’ experience as a labor & delivery nurse before she became a Certified Nurse Midwife.
“What I love about delivering babies is the power of the women, seeing them do this powerful, awesome thing,” Janelle says. “It’s an honor to be able to help women during this physically difficult experience.”
Janelle’s philosophy of care centers on education, and choice: “I work with my patients to make sure they have the education and resources they need to feel empowered and make informed decisions,” she says. “It’s so important to give patients the power of knowledge during pregnancy, and during labor. When you know your options, you can make choices.”
Janelle will deliver babies at NH+C’s Birth Center. She will see patients at the Women’s Health Center on the hospital campus. “I like being able to see a patient through their whole pregnancy, and form a bond with them before delivery.”

Janelle received her nursing degree from University of Jamestown and her Master of Science in Nurse-Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University. She is board-certified by American Midwifery Certification Board.
