NH+C updates its Electronic Health Records system

MAY 23, 2022 – Northfield Hospital + Clinics is updating its Electronic Health Records system. EHR is the computer system that manages all patient records, plus much of the information generated by medical equipment in the hospital and clinics.

The process has been underway for a year and a half. Staff across all hospital and clinic departments have been training and preparing for several months.

The new system goes live in late June/early July. The transition may cause some delays as staff become familiar with the new system. “It’s like getting a new cell phone – it takes time for it to feel familiar,” says NH+C CEO Steve Underdahl.

Patient care may be slower during the transition to new system. It’s the same personal care NH+C patients know and trust – always safe, always thorough. Calls to 911 will not be delayed.

It may take longer to schedule appointments. NH+C encourages patients to plan ahead when possible, and please be patient during the transition.

If you need care today

If your situation is life threatening, call 911. Calls to 911 will not be delayed.

Go to the Emergency Department for:

Serious injuries, including excessive bleeding, burns or broken bones Trouble breathing Pain or pressure in the chest or belly Seizures Signs of a heart attack: chest pain, shortness of breath, pain in arms, back or jaw Signs of stroke: sudden change in vision, weakness, trouble talking, drooping face Sudden dizziness or feeling lightheaded Confusion Severe or repeated vomiting Severe dehydration

“We continually make changes to better meet patient healthcare needs,” Underdahl says. “Updating our systems with advanced technology makes it possible to better coordinate patient care.”
