MARCH 8, 2022 – Brittany Cordes, APRN, CNM has joined Northfield Hospital + Clinics to care for women before, during and after giving birth.
NH+C is expanding midwifery care at its Birth Center and Women’s Health Center, part of the full range of obstetrics care and birth options at NH+C.
Brittany wants women to feel they are making healthy, safe, and satisfying choices for their family and themselves during pregnancy, in labor and birth, and postpartum.
“The most vital thing I can do is empower women to become advocates for their own health by providing them informed and supportive evidence-based care,” Brittany says.
“The intent of midwifery is to be ‘with woman,’ and I believe this to be the most basic component of the care we strive to provide,” she adds. “I want to promote ethical, equitable, and individualized care with low intervention and therapeutic presence.”
Brittany delivers babies at NH+C’s Birth Center. She sees patients at the Women’s Health Center on the hospital campus.

Brittany received her nursing degree from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN and her Master of Science in Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, KY. She is board-certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board. She comes to NH+C from Minnesota Birth Center, which specializes in midwife-led care.
