Staff Wish List
Our staff members are always looking for ways to support their teams and improve patient care. Through donor support to the Northfield Hospital Foundation, they can receive new training tools, equipment, and other resources that enhance the patient’s experience and care here at Northfield Hospital + Clinics. These "wishes" reflect real needs that have been identified by the staff working with patients every day.
Sleep Sacks | $8,250
Every newborn at the Birth Center receives a SleepSack® Swaddle to promote safe sleep and reduce the risk of SIDS. These swaddles prevent loose blankets and encourage back-sleeping.
Impact: Ensures every baby leaves with a safe sleep option, regardless of family income.
BP Cuffs | $7,500
High blood pressure during pregnancy and after birth can be dangerous for mom and baby. We provide patients in need with properly sized cuffs and personalized education for home monitoring. We aim to distribute 100 this year.
Impact: Empowers patients to manage their health and reduces risks related to hypertension during and after pregnancy.
Dolphin Ring Cutter | $3,000
In the ER, rings must sometimes be removed quickly. The Dolphin Ring Cutter safely cuts through all ring materials, including strong metals like tungsten and titanium.
Impact: Allows quick, painless removal of rings, improving care in urgent situations.
iPad Stands for Interpreter Services | $1,396 (4 at $349)
Interpreter services are often provided via iPad, but carrying the device while managing supplies is inconvenient. Sturdy stands allow staff to wheel the iPad into the room and keep it at patient eye level.
Impact: Improves access to interpreter services and creates a smoother experience for patients and staff.
Specimen Scale | $900 (3 at $300)
Accurate measurement of surgical specimens and blood loss is essential in the OR. Replacing scales with analog, standardized models improves accuracy and ease of use.
Impact: Enhances clinical decision-making and improves patient safety during surgery.
Emergency Fund | $5,000
This fund supports patients with urgent, unexpected needs—like transportation to treatment, basic clothing, or meals during an extended stay.
Impact: Reduces stress and supports healing for patients in crisis.
Patient Comfort Cart | $500 - $1,000
A mobile cart stocked with comfort items—snacks, puzzles, hygiene supplies, and small essentials—helps patients and families during hospital visits.
Impact: Reduces stress and brings care and dignity to patients during unplanned or stressful moments.
