Meet William Hoekstra, Psy.D., LP, DBSM

Philosophy of Care

I am a licensed doctorate level psychologist (Psy.D., LP DBSM – Diplomate, Board Certified in Behavioral Sleep Medicine) with professional interests including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, sleep medicine and trauma-related anxiety. I offer face-to-face virtual visits for a variety of health services and conditions.

As a board-certified behavioral sleep medicine clinician, I provide treatment for insomnia, circadian rhythm problems, shift work sleep problems, apnea mask tolerance problems, and other sleep-related challenges. I am trained in the use of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) and use these approaches in my work with trauma and PTSD.

My approach to patient care is based on a deep respect and non-judgmental understanding of my patients' past and present experiences. This helps create a safe and personable place for our work together. In my therapy sessions, I collaborate to find meaningful goals, help people identify and use insight toward personal growth, and use reliable therapeutic approaches to help people reach their best health.
