How is Allina Health managing its specialists that have been at this clinic?

Specialists joining NH+C include providers in acupuncture, pharmacology (medication management), podiatry, and sleep medicine. They continue to see patients in this clinic location.

Other specialists will remain with Allina Health, providing access to care in other Allina Health locations. Please contact Allina Health for information.

What happens with cardiology care?

Minneapolis Heart Institute continues to provide cardiac care through NH+C. Some services will change locations.

  • Clinic appointments move to Jefferson Road Clinic, from the Northfield Clinic on the hospital campus. To schedule clinic appointments, call 507-646-6300. After Sept. 18, call 507-663-9000.
  • Imaging, including echocardiogram and vascular ultrasound, moves to Northfield Hospital. Call Diagnostic Imaging to schedule: 507-646-1143

Minneapolis Heart Institute will no longer offer Teleheart virtual visits in Northfield. There are two options:

  • Schedule a clinic appointment at Jefferson Road Clinic. Call 507-663-9000 to schedule
  • Set up a Teleheart visit at another MHI location. Call MHI to schedule: 612-863-3900

What happens with Urgent Care?

Urgent Care Northfield moves into Jefferson Road Clinic as of Thursday, Sept. 17.

It's the same great care and same hours, in a new location.

  • Mon - Fri: 8:30 am-7:30 pm
  • Sat - Sun: 8:30 am-3:30 pm

Urgent Care will be in a bigger space than its location on Highway 3, and convenient referrals for follow up care.

Because Jefferson Road Clinic is on the Northfield Hiawathaland bus route, this makes Urgent Care accessible via bus.

Urgent Care will be closed Sept. 15-16 for the move.

If you need urgent care those two days:

  • Northfield Clinic (on hospital main campus): Same-day appointments 7:30 am – 5 pm, 507-646-1494

Patient Portal

Can I still access MyChart?

Yes, you will be able to continue to access your MyChart account to see past messages, and check results for test/labs done before Aug. 28.

Allina Health shuts down MyChart Messaging for Jefferson Road Clinic providers on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

  • Allina Health shuts down MyChart Messaging for mental health providers at Jefferson Road Clinic on Friday, Sept. 18.
  • To reach providers in the interim, call Allina Health’s patient care main number: 888-425-5462

If you see other Allina Health providers, you can continue using Allina’s MyChart to communicate with them.

If you have questions about using MyChart after Sept. 18, contact Allina Health.

NH+C has a similar patient portal, MyHealth Info

Your MyChart information does not transfer over to MyHealth Info. You’ll need to set up a MyHealth Info account.

You can set up a MyHealth Info account when your first appointment is scheduled through NH+C. We’ll invite you to do this when you schedule your first appointment with us.

Once your MyHealth Info account is set up, you can use it right away to message your primary care provider, and any NH+C provider you’re scheduled to see.

Learn about NH+C's MyHealth Info here.

Electronic Medical Records

Can I still access my Allina Health records? Can my provider?

Yes, you will be able to continue to access your Allina Health records.

NH+C will help patients, providers and staff transition from Allina Health’s Epic system to NH+C’s Meditech Expanse system.

Patients will always be able to see their existing records in Epic; these files will remain, but will not be updated with new information after the clinic transition. New information will be added to patient records in Meditech Expanse.

Providers will maintain access to Epic, and continue to see patient records as “read-only” files. Providers won’t have the option to add or make changes to these files.

With two parallel electronic medical records, the back and forth will get a bit more complicated. NH+C is committed to making it as seamless as possible.

Health insurance

Will my insurance be covered?

BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD OF MINNESOTA: NH+C is in-network for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota insurance. As of  Sept. 18, the Jefferson Road Clinic will be in-network for this insurance.

Call your insurance carrier to confirm the details of your specific insurance plan.

Overall, we have looked at the insurance products that many people hold in the Northfield area. The vast majority of them are equal from Allina Health to NH+C. There are a few that we're reviewing in more detail to make sure that those patients who have a specific insurance product can continue to get great access with NH+C, and we'll continue to improve that as we go into 2027.

It's always a good idea for individuals to call their insurance company and clarify their own coverage directly with their insurance carrier.

It’s helpful to have your insurance information when you’re scheduling or checking in for an appointment. Our patient-service staff can verify that we have your correct insurance information, and update it if needed.
