Back, Neck and Spine Care - Achieve your goals for a more active lifestyle

Back pain is one of the most widespread health problems, affecting four out of five Americans in their lifetime. If you’re living with pain, let’s talk.  We’d love to see what we can do to help you get rid of your pain and live the pain-free life you deserve.

Conservative Care – Helping You Avoid Surgery

We diagnose the full spectrum of back and neck problems and design custom treatment plans built on a conservative, non-surgical approach. Most patients do not need surgery to return to their active lifestyles.

We will start with a comprehensive exam that includes listening to your concerns, a thorough health history, review of any past x-rays or MRIs, and a physical exam. Upon completion of the exam, we will diagnose what is causing your back or neck pain and discuss your options.

We will create a specialized treatment plan just for you, unique to your condition, age, lifestyle, and goals. Every treatment plan focuses on getting you the best results and starts with non-surgical options including:

  • Physical Therapy to build strength, and decrease pain
  • Anti-inflammatory medications to decrease swelling
  • Low-impact exercises
  • Icing therapy
  • Activity modification
  • Spinal injections

If surgery is needed, a surgery consult will be scheduled with a spine surgeon. We can provide follow up care close to your home in collaboration with your surgeon.

Your team

We use a comprehensive approach from a team with specialized training in spine care. The multi-disciplinary team consists of spine surgeons, doctors and physical therapists. Our doctors have years of experience caring for patients with back and neck problems.

Do I need to be a patient of NH+C?

You don't have to be a current NH+C patient to take advantage of our spine clinic. We welcome patients from anywhere, including Allina, Mayo, Fairview, Park Nicollet, and more. We are an independent organization.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can make an appointment without a referral.

What non-surgical solutions do you offer?

Not every pain or injury needs surgery. Sometimes all you need is some physical therapy and rest. We start with non-surgical options to try to solve your problem. Our non-surgical options include:

  • Spinal injections
  • Physical Therapy to build strength, and decrease pain
  • Anti-inflammatory medications to decrease swelling
  • Low-impact exercises
  • Icing therapy
  • Activity modification

What if I need surgery?

You’re in great hands. If you need surgery, you will be referred to a spine surgeon through our partnership with Twin Cities Spine Center. They will see you in the Orthopedic Clinic for surgery consultations and evaluations, and will perform surgeries at TC Spine locations. We can provide follow up care close to your home in collaboration with your surgeon.

What Should I Bring to My Appointment?

Remember to bring any X-rays, MRIs, or office notes from other health care providers that are relevant to your visit. Bringing these with you helps us avoid having to repeat tests or studies and helps keep your health care costs down.
